This post has taken a lot of effort. I baked two big batches of these delicious blondies in a week and had to stave off kitchen marauders; literally needing to hide three slices to photograph later and share the recipe.
There is no such thing as an Oreo overload, even though it seems I might be indulging the cookies. The list of ingredients calls for butter, cream cheese and Oreos. Let me try that again: butter… cream cheese… and Oreos. A magic combination! I took these for a pot luck dinner and the next day a couple of slices made for a perfect lunch box treat. Guaranteed to be wiped to the last crumb.
Tips on the recipe: The special bit about the recipe is that the cream cheese is not incorporated within the batter. Instead dollops of it is dropped on it over the Oreo cookies. Now I recommend being liberal while you’re pouring the cream cheese batter. The blondie batter could appear crumbly but don’t let that alarm you because once baked, it comes together quickly and forms a perfect crumbly envelope around the cookie and cream cheese. Don’t reduce the number of Oreos from the recommended amount. In fact, I ended up adding more to my next batch. You can’t be missing a bite without ’em Oreos.
Over to the recipe: Crumbly, buttery chocolate chip batter enveloping a luscious cream cheese filling and surprising you with whole Oreo cookies in every single bite.
- 2 sticks softened butter
- ¾ cups packed light brown sugar
- 1 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 2 tablespoon sugars
- 1-2 Tbsp. milk
- 24 Oreo cookies
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
- Add flour, salt, baking soda and chocolate chips; mix until just combined.
- Press half of dough into bottom of a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until slightly browned. While bars are baking, beat cream cheese with sugar. Add enough milk to make the mixture a spreadable consistency.
- Remove bars from oven; top with 24 Oreo cookies. Spread cream cheese mixture over Oreos. Top with remaining half of chocolate chip dough.
- Bake 25-30 minutes, or until bars are set. Cool before cutting.
Happy Baking!

Hold the phone!! Oreos inside of blondies!?! I so need one of these immediately! This sounds so delicious – and so dangerous to have a whole tray of. YUM!!
Oh, blondies. I absolutely love them and could not have two batches around the house in one week–two dangerous!
I’ve had to hide slices of my foods before, or tuck away a few cupcakes. Guess that’s a sign of a good recipe!
Fabulous recipe! These look sooo tasty. I too, have issues with kitchen marauders…
Wowza, I’d stalk your kitchen for one of these :)
I can totally understand why u needed to bake the 2nd batch….
Beautiful!!!
I can eat whole batch all by myself, no matter how huge that batch is.
Love the pic!!!
WOW, these are knock your socks off blondies!
I’m not surprised you had to hide a few of these for photos! Oreos & a layer of cream cheese wrapped in a blondie sounds divine!
Wow these look awesome! I love the addition of the oreos too. Yum!
I opened this up, and immediately said “OH MY WORD!” Yes, I agree, you can never have too much oreos. They are WAY too delicious! Hugs, Terra
Anything that needs to be hidden to keep safe for photographs is five stars in my book!
Holy mother-of-all! These look amazing! I mean, it has a whole Oreo in it…and then cream cheese and some chocolate. There’s no such thing as too much :)
One of these Blondies and a glass of milk sounds so good right now. These look amazing.
They look fantastic! I love cream cheese in baking and if I were around I might have turned into one of those marauders ;)
Oh yum! All of my favorite … kind of like a 3 in 1 cookie! Blondie, cheesecake and oreo … it’s a dream!
That is the coolest ever….Oreos are my favorite!
Oh my goodness these look absolutely fabulous! I love Oreos. I can see how you had to hide a few for the pictures. Yum!
These look amazing. Right now I actually have a huge box of oreos I bought from Costco in my basement that seriously need used.
You.have.got.to.be.kidding.me!!!!!!! I feel like I need to do penance just looking at them.
Oh my WORD! I don’t think I have ever seen anything more decadent… Absolutely glorious! There goes the diet ;)
Wow! These look fantastci! The photo’s are beautiful! I wish I could reach into my compyter and grab one or two!!
Oh my good gracious me…. These look delicious, and what great photo’s too!
It’s no wonder you had to hide some. I would have been one of the guilty but happy kitchen looters! Looks so amazing!
All I can say is: WOW. I can imagine why you had to work so hard to fight off people from eating them so you could take photos.
Oh, boy, I have plenty of Oreos…this looks like a must try recipe!!!
oh my goodness- these look so perfectly over the top! can’t wait to try!
Dear Lord, please help me………..the devil wants me FAT!! Oh Oh Oooooooooh……I want….very badly right now. DHL? Fedex? These are stunning. I shall definitely be trying them very very soon ;) xx
Wish I was present at that pot-luck, however there probably would not have been any left to tuck into that lunch the next day!
Talk about comfort food! I could eat a whole pan of these in one sitting!
Wow! Those look incredibly delicious. Wish I could make it. I’m confused about the sugar though. Do you add the two tablespoons of sugar to the cream cheese and the other sugars to the chocolate chip batter? And the batter will be thick, yes?
Thanks Muneera!
You need to add 2 tablespoons sugar to the cream cheese batter and 1 cup to the chocolate chip batter. The batter will be quite crumbly but it really comes together when you bake it.
oh. my. these look amazing!! I can imagine you had to hide them for photos!!
o my…these look decadent and GORGEOUS!
These look awesome! I’m not surprised you had to fight people off to get them photographed!
OMG!! I MUST have these…the WHOLE pan!!
Ahhh! These look incredible!
This could be the prettiest oreo recipe ever. The ingredients intimidate me a little but DO NOT talk about what’s in there when I’m having this. =) I’ll fight for the last piece or any piece!!!
How do you come up with some idea for sweet treat every single time .. i will never know :) You make me drool every time I visit here.
Wow, these look like such decadent blondies!!! Yum!
I think the hardest part about being a food blogger is the fact that you can’t eat until the photos are taken. Or you have to hide a couple of them so you can take the photos. Sometimes you just want to dive in and forget about the pictures!
And seriously, I don’t know how you managed to hide 3 of these. I would’ve eaten all of them!
Ok, all I need for the rest of my life is butter, oreos, and cream cheese…. these blondies are amazing!! I’d have to hide these in my house too, they’d be gone in seconds :)
I’m curious, can I use the new cream cheese with chocolate? Philadelphia now has chocolate cream cheese and white chocolate cream cheese. Any idea if that would affect the baking at all? I’m thinking of using either instead of regular. Also curious if you think white chocolate or milk chocolate might be better.
Hey Naomi. I haven’t tried the flavored ones yet but I can imagine the white chocolate would go perfectly. Let me know how it turns out.
Wow.. wow and wow!! Looks completely fantastic. I would get lots of hugs and kisses from my kids if I whipped this up. :)
WOW these look incredible!! Drool!
OMG…Oreos, cream cheese and chocolate chips…you’re killing me! Wish I could grab some from the computer monitor right now!
I can’t wait to try these, they look so good. Did you use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet?
I recommend semi sweet of this recipe.

Woot. Thanks Dottie. I’m sure it’ll be a hit at your get together. :)
Hi! I’m a housewife with 3 boys and a girl living in cleveland and I follow your blog religiously. I made these for a bake sale and they were a big hit. In fact I was the only one who sold everything that day. I just wanted to thank you for this recipe.
Thank you so much, Michelle. Truly appreciate you dropping by.
Just wanted to check if I could use one of the flavored cream cheeses by Philadelphia in this recipe?
I really haven’t tried using the flavored ones yet but I think the white chocolate would pair perfectly.
Are you kidding me?? Oh god, I’d die for these. What a glorious treat :)
