This Monday we have one recipe and four excellent pear muffin variations for you. The original recipe ‘Pear and Date Muffins’ hails from The Free Range Cook by Annabel Langbein.
My version is without dates and substitutes water for buttermilk: two small tweaks, resulting in muffins moist and delicious.
I might be overdoing the strawberries, They’re in season, after all, and I couldn’t resist topping the muffins with some freshly topped luscious berries for breakfast this morning.
Kate from Food Babbles also baked a Pear and Ginger Muffin.
Lyn from Lovely Pantry baked an Asian Pear Date Muffin.
and Stacy from Food Lust People Love is not the biggest fan of pear so she baked us a Apple Raisin and Almond Muffin.

Happy Baking!
I’ve never made pear muffins, but the thought of it – and looking at the photo – is pushing me to make some, now.
I love the ginger pear combination and muffins are a great way to have an indulgence.
Those look marvelous, Anuradha, and I don’t think a person can EVER overdo strawberries in season.
Oooh, boy, this ginger/pear combo sounds amazing! And I’d go nuts with the strawberries, too, if I could find any that gorgeous around here!
Pears are always a good choice :-)
I know exactly what you mean about overdosing on the strawberries.. am putting them on everything!!! Pear and ginger is a lovely combination.. and so winter!!! :)
I subbed out the water and added cinnamon too! Great minds think alike ;) Lovely muffin and I like the strawberries on top. They aren’t in season here and I miss them terribly.

this muffin reminds me of a vinegar that Devo Olive Oil carries called ginger and pear balsamic. You would love it! I have tried it in different things and i bet a dash of it in this muffin would be amazing but seriously, the muffin is amazing just like it is!
