Featured Recipe: Apple Crumble Pie
Review:
When you say Apple Crumble Pie, you immediately know what expect; a crisp top and oozing filling. Well, the top was the right amount of crispiness, but it wasn’t gooey enough once you’d broken through. Still, this takes nothing away from the taste. The spices are balanced perfectly and other aspects fall neatly into place, but personally I would have loved the filling to be a little more tender – and oozy – to dig into. I added a homemade caramel sauce and that turned out to be a small addition that made a big difference to this dessert (at least for me). The pie is best served warm on the day you’ve baked it accompanied by a huge dollop of ice cream.
All in all, I love the simplicity of the recipe. It’s a quick throw together of simple ingredients that are in the front row of your pantry. The best part was that the dough requires no chilling, which means you can bake this pie start to end in one go.

delicious apple pie! i do know what u mean about oozy sauce because i made apple pie the other day and i remembered thinking that i wanted to have more caramel syrup to it~
I know, right! Thanks Junia! x
I have high standards, coming from Germany and all, when talking about Streuselkuchen crumb cake. The recipe sounds interesting enough though as far as spices are concerned. And it did turn out very pretty!
Mmm this pie looks delicious, wonderful recipe! :)
This pie looks amazing!! I love apple desserts, this one sounds great!
I love apple pie! But i don’t make it often enough. I just made a huge one a couple of days ago. Next time I’d try your apple crumble. It sounds wonderful!
This is the way my mother-in-law makes her apple pie and I much prefer the crumble to another layer of pastry. You’re making me hungry for a piece!
This makes me so hungry. I need to not come to your blog before lunch….I want this now!
:-)
Your pie looks amazing–and I always appreciate desserts that can be made with things already in the pantry.
This pie looks so delicious! I would definitely need a bigger slice than that :) I also love how the dough doesn’t need to chill, that can be so time consuming sometimes.
Apple Crumble is my son favorite, I promised him I will make it soon, but the days run so fast. Maybe this is a kind of sign that I have to make one for him before the year ends…
Oh My this looks incredible. I love apple pie with a crumble top and especially love it with a caramel sauce. Thank you so much for sharing this one on stumbleupon!
The crumble as well as the caramel sauce really does amp up the pie. I would much rather have this than a crusted pie. The link is not working this early for some reason but I will be coming back to take a look at the recipe. The picture looks so tempting.
Adding caramel sauce to this was a great idea! Your pie looks delicious and your crust looks very flaky.
Oh wow, amazing pie! Love it!
I used to throw in orange juice to create more ooziness – but that never quite did it. I like the sound of the caramel sauce.
Oh my goodness this looks so delicious!! Wish I could take a big fork full right now! Yum!!
What an amazing looking pie. The filling sounds great nad the topping divine! Yum!
Pretty picture. And that caramel sauce sounds like it really would be just the perfect touch!
Oh Yum! Can I have one slice please? Now off to get the recipe
I am drooling at that streusel topping…
I love apple desserts, this one sounds great!
apple pie looks wonderful lovely giveaway
I simply love this pie and its really tempting me at this time of the night. I would like to chill it first and then dig in with the whipped cream.
The pie does look wonderful and the addition of caramel sounds perfect!
How nice that you don’t have to chill the dough! Looks wonderful–but I know what you mean about the oozing filling.
i agree with you about the caramel sauce. your picture has me drooling ;)
