Ah… the little joys. This is my first ever guest post and it is my absolute pleasure to write one for my very talented friend, Maureen. I’ve always admired her work. Her blog Orgasmic Chef says a lot about who she is. Her love for cooking and experiments with flavors shows in the results: mouthwatering food she shares with us week on week.
Oh yes! And that lovely format for recipes you see on my blog has been coded by J (her lovely multi tasking husband) and her. What a super team they make: highly talented and such great friends.
Extremely excited when Maureen asked me, I instantly had a million ideas running through my head because she left it entirely up to me to decide what I should bake for her. There were several options but I jumped when she suggested cupcakes. I almost never get a chance to bake them since I am baking muffins week after week for Muffin Monday. And yes, even though cupcakes and muffins are technically very different, they’re still distant cousins in the same family.
I love cupcakes. They are tiny bites of manna. And there are no pangs of guilt should you try a tiny little cupcake. Right?
What I’m baking for Maureen today are Vanilla Almond cupcakes with a maple cream cheese frosting. These cupcakes are unbelievably delicious. Head over to Maureen’s for the rest of the post and recipe.

Yum. They look so cute. Vanilla- almond – a classic flavour.
Anything maple makes my heart sing. :-) Mixing it with cream cheese is pure heaven!
This does look delicious and a nice change from chocolate. I will pop on over there now.
Aww two faves of mine collaborate. How fantastic, An the cupcake looks absolutely adorable although I am sort of on a self imposed diet but I don’t know how long will that last. lol
These sound absolutely scrumptious. I love maple and almond is a great addition to cupcakes. Yum!
Oh my gosh these look and sound heavenly! Vanilla? Almonds? Maple? AND cream cheese? Are you trying to kill me?

The cup cake looks so dreamy and yum! Hopping over to Maureen’s blog for the recipe.
I love cupcakes! But I bake so many of them (for work!) that I would rather go for one of those delicious muffins you feature here every week! lol… But I do have to say that the flavors in this cupcake are tempting me!!
I have this recipe copied already, it certainly looks and sounds delicious. Maureen is an online friend of mine and I know she’s a wonderful cook as I have many of her recipes.
I took a quick tour of your site……it’s bookmarked. I’ve died and gone to heaven lol. I love muffins and could never find anything different when I go searching. You do lovely presentations and I’ll certainly be back tomorrow for a more in depth look. I’m very happy you came to guest blog at Maureen’s site.
Thanks Megs. Glad you liked the cupcakes. :)
Oh my gosh, that maple cream cheese frosting left me a bit speechless and wanting to lick my monitor so badly! Which only means one thing, I’m bookmarking this for a trial run next week :-)
I love that they are bite sized, no guilt involved!
